We utilized them for a complete $19k kitchen remodel. They were helpful in selecting the various components including countertops, cabinet and drawers, sink, and various upgrades like pullout shelves. But where they really shined was the constant solid communications with us as the various subcontractors came in to do their specific parts of the project. They rely on a small pool of subcontractors so there is a known quality of the installed product.
The subs used for the demo of the old cabinets and kitchen island and install the new items were rock solid. They also handled demo of the kitchen island’s electrical and the disconnect of the microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal connections at an added charge. They also removed the old backsplash and installed new sheetrock panels for attaching the new backsplash for additional cost. All tasks were done very well and the added cost tasks were comparable with costs of using my own outside electricians and sheetrock specialists.
The countertops were measured with laser measurements, cut and installed by another quality subcontractor. No issues with their work on these quartz countertops. They took their time explaining to my wife on how to care for these quartz countertops down the road.
The last contractor Southern Brothers used for installing the backsplash was their weakest performer. The glass backsplash was installed straight and level but we had issues with many of their comments. Entering a customer’s home and asking how much are we going to pay them for their work and giving us a different number then they previously negotiated with Southern Brothers to do the job is a bit tacky. They also tried taking the last almost full box of tiles even though we purchsed these 7 tile boxes as part of the project.
Overall, we give Southern Brothers (SB) a solid 5 stars and will not hesitate to use for future laundry room and other projects. There were many financial milestones where we gave SB a check for the next step or paid some of the subcontractors separately for their labor steps. SB did a great job on keeping us informed on the next project milestone, time to complete and when payments were due. Over the last 30 years we have contracted out many home improvement projects and this was the first project we didn’t have to worry about. We ended up just $400 above their initial $19k project estimate so almost spot on at the very end. Completely satisfied customer.

We had a flood in our home which ruined our floors and kitchen cabinets. After the remediation company was done, we popped in to visit Southern Brothers Flooring and Cabinets in Fleming island to see about new kitchen cabinets/counters and flooring. We had been to other cabinet suppliers so we knew what we were looking for in quality and price.
The other suppliers came up short on quality and pricing. Not Doug! He got us the most gorgeous high quality kitchen cabinets and countertops. He also got us some gorgeous waterproof flooring. Doug came out to measure and mocked up the design we wanted so we could see our vision in full detail.
Once we approved the design, Doug scheduled every single one of his contractors accordingly. Each and everyone of them showed up the exact day and time they were scheduled...even calling the day before to confirm as id Doug. Every scontractor performed their specific work and cleaned up after themselves. All of them were very polite, knowledgeable in their field and a delight to work with. Very Professional
Doug has built quite the business and hired amazing staff (CJ) and his contractors who performed flawlessly. Doug is a master in his field and his personality makes him a joy to work with. We have sent numerous friends and neighbors to work with Doug. We enjoyed the process so much we had our guest bathroom remodeled with Doug at Southern Brothers. We will be remodeling our master bathroom next year and obviously we are going with Doug and his team.
